How We Got Here…

I (Diana Page), set up a small, female-led, high-security clearance gardening business nearly two years ago. It grew quickly to fully-booked. So… I took on Julie, part time!

During this time we noticed that, due to the area demographics in East Riding, a lot of our customers were elderly. Being ‘jolly nice humans’ we couldn’t help but help them in other ways; a bit of shopping here, a phone call for admin there, or helping arrange transport to hospital to visit a spouse.

Both of the initial team members Diana and Julie have decades of care experience within their own families and Julie had previously worked in adult care. So, Di had the idea of expanding our gardening business to include Social and Domestic Care.

In addition to this we have Di’s partner Niel, who is a ‘proper’ builder! Now over 60 he prefers to do odd-jobs rather than full house builds and can be found doing anything from new kitchens and bathrooms to fixing shelves or guttering. From January 2026 we have expanded to take on two more part-time staff to support the care, gardening and handyman roles.

Your Security Matters…

Finally, two members of the team: Founder Di and her partner Niel are ex public services (Police and Prison) so we understand that your security matters.

We are paid members of the Information Commissioners Office meaning we handle our data securely plus we will never photo your loved one or their home and share it on social media!

Di also completed a burglary prevention course whilst working for Humberside so can give tips on how to make your home more secure, and Niel can ensure any doors or windows have working locks and close securely as part of any handyman subscription.

All staff including carers, the gardening team and the handymen will be DBS certified. While managers Julie and Di both have the Enhanced DBS level of security checks. Please ask to see these if you wish.

Caring…

ulie Jordan will be Social and Domestic Care Team Leader and Training Manager, having worked her entire life in care in some format. She is qualifed up to peg feeding for her current service user group of young people. For now please note, we will NOT be offering personal or health care but are liasing with one of Di’s life long friends who is a registered adult nurse and nurse trainer of over 20 years experience, who will come on-board to advise and assess during any transition into higher levels of care, if needed by our clients.

For this reason, we currently are not offering regulated services and as such do not need to be CQC registered, though it is on our roadmap going forward and will will attain compliance in the run up so that we are ready for if we do add in personal care.

ETHICAL AND ECO MINDED

We pay local people fair wages and believe in paying tax. We do not use chemicals in the garden and we DO use eco cleaning products in the home…for the safety of you, your loved ones, our staff and the planet.

Please bear this in mind if shopping around for prices; we won’t be the most expensive; but due to the above; have not set out to compete with the cheapest independents either.

Being a small, local team we will be able to be consistent and you will always get to speak to someone you know…. Some bigger companies have so many staff that you may not get to build up that personal relationship that makes the difference between a business and a service.
